- I recently received an e-mail from a faculty member at Brookfield Academy informing me of their most recent service effort. They had read about the Sewing Machine Project in the UW Alumni Newsletter in the Fall of ’07 and decided to take up a collection of machines, fabric and notions at the school to support the SMP. Their idea paid off in a big way. On Saturday April 19th, a pickup truck loaded to the top with donations made its way to Hans’ sewing for a delivery! Not only did Brookfield Academy families donate machines, they also donated lots of fabric and other sewing related items. I was thrilled to receive their delivery!
