Times-Picayune Article: Stitching a Culture Together

Having just returned from another visit to New Orleans (April 2007), I was so excited to see this wonderful article by Sheila Stroup in the Times-Picayune!

Sheila has been such a great supporter of this project. She and I visited the Herreast Harrison and her daughter, Cherice Harrison-Nelson while I was in New Orleans. Herreast welcomed us so warmly and we felt so fortunate to be able to see their beautiful work on Mardi Gras suits as well as to learn more about the Mardi Gras Indian culture.
